Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Water Distribution Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the city's water distribution system, ensuring that customers have access to quality and sufficient water with minimal interruption.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain water mains, pipe joints, valves, services, and branches
- Perform hydrant repairs for various models in the water distribution system
- Load and transport equipment, tools, and materials used for utility repairs and maintenance
- Prepare sites for excavation, including setting up barricades and other traffic control
- Operate excavating equipment, such as backhoes, skid steers, and hand excavation tools
- Monitor equipment operation for malfunctions and notify supervisory personnel
- Perform routine maintenance, such as fueling and lubricating equipment
- Clean work sites and perform preventative maintenance duties
- High school diploma or equivalent, with training in excavation, road construction, plumbing, or utility work
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), minimum Class B, with Tanker Endorsement, or ability to obtain CDL within 30 days in position
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within one year of hire
