Looking for an experienced Retail Manager who is a self-starter, highly motivated, detailed oriented individual, to manage day to day operations for a well established, 52 year old retail business.

JOB SUMMARY: The General Manager is the key leader and responsible for the overall success of the retail business. This Position will require the management of day to day operations of the store to maximize sales, minimize costs and ensure an exceptional customer service experience. The General Manager position requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, business conduct and ethical behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years of retail management experience required. 2 years of experience with one-on-one customer sales. Associates Degree in Business Management/ Business Administration and/or Accounting preferred. 1 year minimum basic accounting skills preferred. Strong management delegation, communication skills both written and oral, organizational skills, highly motivated and solution driven. Possess a high standard of professionalism. Must be a self-starter and innovative thinker. Strong computer skills required and the ability to learn as needed. Extensive knowledge working with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks preferred.

Must have a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage all aspects of store operations, to include but not limited to sales and managing staff.
  • Understand and execute store policies and procedures.
  • Lead operations with a primary focus on continuously improving sales and profitability.
  • Be an effective team leader to ensure a positive and motivating work environment to guide staff towards their maximum performance.
  • Engage in Business Development by attending community events such as the Home Show, County Fair, and other local events.
  • Responsible for integrity of the store inventory. Monitor inventory levels and purchases, stay abreast with market and product trends, maintain discounts and pricing for all dropped and discontinued merchandise and implement effective merchandising strategies.
  • Responsible for product signage and price accuracy, directing product placement using store guidelines. Ensure all marketing material is set up in line with Marketing and Brand requirements. Be aware of competitor product offerings and promotions.
  • Maintain a pleasing showroom presentation and ensure merchandise is kept in order.
  • Maintain the overall transactions of daily work, working with reports and responding to action emails, ordering office supplies, manage schedules for all staff, oversee budget goals, monitor financial performance.
  • Responsible for coordinating product training with brand sales representatives and utilizing company resources to keep associates up to date on product knowledge, selling skills and operational efficiencies.
  • Additional duties as requested by upper management.
