L.L.Bean is searching for an Associate Retail Merchant focusing on Men's & Women's Active Apparel to join the Merchandising team located in Freeport, Maine. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in the office per week.

Position Purpose: Achieve sales, gross margin, brand positioning and profit goals of a specific business through the selection, pricing and promotion of merchandise that maximizes the Company's return on investment. Develops and implements category strategy including analysis and appropriate reaction to sales trends in order to maximize business. Responsible for selecting the most compelling, competitive assortment for our Retail stores. Assume responsibility for all systems work for owned categories, setting the foundation for current and future seasons. Provide direction and continuously communicate with internal partners including Corporate Merchants, Visual Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Product Development, Design, Inventory Management and Creative - reinforcing the division's goals and strategies.

Responsibilities:

Strategy

Build, develop, and manage a profitable, relevant assortment that supports brand positioning and achieves financial targets with approval by Sr. MerchantCollaborates with Inventory Management, Planners, and Allocators on timing of product needs, deliveries, in-stock levels, seasonal allocation, and forecasts.Partner with Visual Merchandiser to create floor set directives that support merchandise vision and strategy.Participate in strategic planning discussions; provide input on strategy and vision.Gather market data & create reports to support assessment of competition.Planning & AnalyticsAnalyze and react to in season product performance focusing on sales, margin, and sell-thru.Review & execute to in-season markdowns and exit strategies.Core Work
