Major organization is seeking an experienced sales support specialist to be a subject matter expert on the company’s retail energy business operations, processes, and systems to assist Account Executives with maximizing the efficient growth of the business through revenue generation activities. This includes developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and brokers and serving as the in-house point of contact.

 

As a Sales Support Specialist you will report to the VP, Sales.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Establish productivity targets for deal set ups and pricing turnaround time.

• Create a team environment and establish a best-in-class org that:

o Accurately prices and understands product offerings to prepare proposals/contracts and assist in generating revenue; create proposals and contracts for Power and Natural Gas customers.

o Collects and verify Power and Natural Gas usage information to request customer pricing.

o Adjudicate and manage credit approval for customers via utility invoice review and internal pay history review

o Meet with customers and channel partners as necessary in the presentation of pricing or post sales account management

o Act as a liaison between the sales originators, customers, sales channels, and Operations departments to resolve customer issues

o Provide expertise in the use of CRM and pricing systems, and assist in execution of process and system changes

o Timely response to Request For Proposal response packagesincluding government RFPs.

o Build pipeline for government RFPs from local, state and national government entities

o Produce ad-hoc customer reports and sales presentations

o Research and resolve enrollment failures, and dropped customer accounts to minimize any negative financial impact

o Follow all Sales, Legal and operational policies to avoid and minimize financial risk.

o Initiate and coordinate accurate and timely LDC enrollment paperwork.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.

• Experience managing a sales support team in a high pressure, high transaction environment.

• Energy industry experience preferred.

• Knowledge of utility rules and requirements for retail energy supplierspreferred

• Knowledge of retail energy commodity products and pricing components preferred

• Knowledge of the sales cycle preferred

• User capability with Microsoft Office products

• Experience in the NYC / NJ markets

• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally; strong ability to communicate across departments and drive to “get the deal done.”
