Job Description:

As the Operations Manager at NRP Jones, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing processes across multiple sites and distribution centers. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations, efficient production, and adherence to quality standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations across multiple manufacturing sites and distribution centers, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of supervisors, production staff, and warehouse personnel, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency enhancements, implementing best practices and lean methodologies.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including stock levels, replenishment strategies, and cycle counting, to ensure optimal inventory management and minimal stockouts.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain high product quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Health and Safety: Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, implementing measures to minimize workplace hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with supply chain partners to optimize logistics, procurement, and distribution processes, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and finished products.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage operational budgets, monitoring expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track operational performance, analyze data trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and finance, to align operational activities with organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a track record of successfully managing multiple sites and distribution centers.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization techniques, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems; experience with SAP or other manufacturing software is a plus.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant industry certifications is desirable.
