RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with the school administrators and is a member of the Student Success Team.
- Supports students in learning and emotional regulation for success in the educational program.
- Develops students’ social-emotional competencies.
- Provides regular and supportive feedback to students, teachers, and families
- Fosters strong relationships with peers, parents, teachers, and others in the child’s life.
- Improves the communication skills of young learners and helps them develop effective decision-making and emotional regulation strategies.
- Teaches problem-solving skills and conflict-resolution behaviors.
- Fosters diversity, equity, and inclusive awareness
- Supports teachers by developing strategies for addressing individual and group needs and regularly teaching SEL lessons.
- Serves as a 6th-grade Advisor
- Other responsibilities as needed and assigned.
- Requires Master’s degree in Counseling, School Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- 3-5 years of elementary school counseling experience in a school setting preferred
- Independent school experience preferred
- Appropriately credentialed
- Able to pass state and federal background checks
- Clear TB and criminal background check upon hire
