Position Summary:

The Pastry Cook is responsible for always delivering the highest quality food and service. Cooks specialize in creating confectionery and other pastry-based items.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Bake items according to the recipes provided by the Pastry Chef.
  • Follow all portion standards.
  • Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests.
  • Ensure all plating and display standards are consistent and met.
  • Applying classic pastry baking techniques when preparing Chef Recipe pastries.
  • Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order.
  • Maintain inventory or prepped ingredients.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations
  • Ensure the station is sanitized and cleaned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to bend or lift 50 pounds or more.

Skills / Experience:

  • At least two (2) years’ experience as a pastry cook, baker, or similar role.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to focus, multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.
  • Must have SNHD Food Handler card up to date.
