Assembly, Manufacturing Specialist

Santa Rosa, CA - (Not remote)

Hours 8am to 430pm

Pay $25-35/hr DOE

The Assembly, Manufacturing Specialist will work directly with others in a collaborative production environment, ensuring adherence to all Safety and ESD requirements. The role involves following documentation and instructions to consistently produce high-quality PCB rework and modifications. Under general supervision and using standardized manuals and procedures, this position is responsible for performing a variety of moderately complex duties within a manufacturing setting. The Specialist will assist with first-level troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions and process improvements as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform PCB assembly, rework, and modifications, ensuring all work meets quality standards.
  • Adhere to Safety and ESD requirements and processing needs.
  • Utilize basic hand tools, automated equipment, microscopes, and soldering equipment in the production process.
  • Apply strong soldering skills using both leaded and lead-free solder wire and pastes.
  • Build Surface Mount PCBs from drawings and schematics.
  • Work with very small parts using a microscope for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day, with potential overtime).
  • Operate automated equipment to remove PCB surface mount parts.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Printed Circuit Board workmanship criteria and standards.
  • Professionally and effectively interact with team members and complete Engineering requests as necessary.
  • Prioritize workload with minimal direction and adapt to shifting priorities to meet production demands.
  • Follow LEAN manufacturing processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Exhibit flexibility and strong teamwork ethics to meet business objectives and department goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB assembly and repair, with manual hand soldering and automated equipment experience.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination to perform precise processing tasks.
  • Specialized training or certification in PCB repair standards is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of LEAN, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies is a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to ITAR regulations.

This position involves working in an ITAR-controlled area.

Flexibility and overtime may be required to meet production needs.
