Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Front of House Associate to join our team at The Organic Butcher. In this role, you will be working directly with our customers, providing excellent customer service while assisting with the daily operations of our butcher shop and grocery store. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting and assisting customers, handling transactions, and ensuring a clean and inviting store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions about products, and provide recommendations. Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy.

  • Sales and Transactions: Operate the cash register, process sales transactions, handle cash and card payments accurately, and ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly.

  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of our product offerings, including cuts of meat, specialty items, and grocery products. Educate customers about the various products and their uses.

  • Store Presentation: Ensure that the front of the house area is clean, organized, and well-stocked. Replenish product displays and arrange products neatly to attractively present our offerings.

  • Stock Management: Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise, including checking for quality and freshness. Notify the manager of any inventory issues or product shortages.

  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including maintaining proper hygiene standards and ensuring that food handling practices meet store policies.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth store operations. Communicate effectively with the back-of-house team to coordinate customer orders and special requests.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred but not required. Experience in a food-related environment is a plus.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attitude: Positive, friendly demeanor with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, and reaching.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
