North Central Bus and Equipment (NCBE) has been in the bus industry for over 60 years and has 50 years of upfitting experience and expertise. NCBE is a division of St. Cloud Industrial Products, Inc. (SCIPI). This position is located at our North Central St. Cloud location. St. Cloud, also known as the Granite City, is home to several parks and attractions highlighting our granite mining history. For example, Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is a 683 acre preserve with 20 former granite quarries and is a great place to swim, scuba, fish, climb, or admire.

Position Description:

As the Production Manager, you are responsible for a customer-focused and efficient operation of North Central’s St. Cloud Upfit Team which includes truck, van, and public safety upfitting. This role is tasked with making sure the department operates at maximum production while maintaining quality output and controlling costs. It is also important that the person in this role is able to build and maintain strong relationships with clientele and team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages/oversees technician team, scheduling, repair completion dates, and the process of quality checks, installations, and pre-delivery inspections
  • Works with various departments to ensure proper billing/invoicing, parts ordering, stocking inventory, and communication of recalls and service bulletins
  • Ensure working condition of shop equipment, schedule safety checks and repairs, maintains/manages shop supplies, shop supply vendors, and shop tools
  • Handles escalated customer complaints related to production or service
  • Oversees hiring and training, prepares and conducts team member evaluations, and fosters personal and professional growth of the team    
  • Understands and complies with safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste

  • Strong organization, leadership, and time management skills

  • Strong technical acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and general DMS knowledge
  • Knowledge of parts terminology

Required Experience:

  • 5+years of auto/truck/van upfitting and/or service experience
  • 5+years of management/leadership experience
  • Valid Class Driver’s License with good driving record

Preferred Experience:

  • 2- or 4-year degree in related field
  • Class A or B license
