Link Staffing has partnered with a leading manufacturing company that provides pressure, level, flow or temperature control products to diverse industries They are looking for Assembly Technicians to work in a manufacturing setting in Northwest Houston. In this position, you will work closely with other assemblers to connect components and construct a variety of products. You must be able to read instructions and know how to use a variety of hand and power tools.

Day shift - 6:00am - 5:00pm

Shift Information for Assembly Technicians:

Day Shift - This is a morning shift position, Monday - Friday 6:00am to 5pm and occasionally on Saturdays

Assembler Duties

Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications and work instructions in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization.

Read, interpret, and follow basic work instructions, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.

Utilize hand held tools such as a hand-held screw and drill gun and torque gauges.

Maintain inventory of product in work stations.

Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.

Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified and/or corrected.

Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.

Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprint specifications, using instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

Follow prescribed safety and housekeeping regulations.

Review work activities with supervisors.


Qualifications / Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

3-5 years mechanical assembly production or assembly line experience is preferred

Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions.

Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.

Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.

High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.

Specific technical or vocational training or certification may be required.

 

Physical demands and abilities for Assembly Technician

Regularly lift up to 30 pounds.

Regularly perform repetitive tasks.

May be required to stand for long periods of time.

Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.

May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers.

Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to verbally communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
