Project Manager

TSS has a unique opportunity for an engaging, innovative, passionate, and motivated individual to assume the role of Project Manager in our Round Rock, TX. location. The Project Manager (PM) provides outstanding customer service through the management, performance, and completion of major account projects. They will assist in managing and directing all project phases from inception to completion. They coordinate proposal preparation and establish and monitor project plans and schedules. This position develops and maintains key customer contacts and relationships. The PM reviews metrics and develops improvement plans in areas including but not limited to customer service, financial performance, customer cost, quality, delivery, and continually seeking value-added business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of project management, which operates in a customer-focused team matrix management capacity with the following functional areas: production, planning, materials management, quality, engineering, and new business development.
  • Assign priorities to multiple competing activities quickly and effectively, balancing short and long-term needs.
  • Responsible for monitoring and analyzing cost, revenue, and profitability performance of projects; providing revenue forecasts and ensuring products are completed on time and within budget; providing pricing rationale and recommendations supporting quotations and proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Review and approve project expenditures within the authority matrix. Conduct a review of financial results and variances with the management team and ensure ROI. Prepare monthly project financial and operational reports for management review, leading the management presentations and customer business reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project operational metrics are in place and are effectively managed. Monitor key operational performance metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, price for value, and use of technology. Review company performance to standards on a regular basis, reacting to metrics by identifying root causes and solutions.
  • Assist with managing and executing new projects in accordance with the budget, schedule, and technical objectives; leverage relationships with existing customers to identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer projects meet the customer's expectations and are delivered on time.
  • Primary lead aligning stakeholders on deliverables, managing communication, championing meetings, and ensuring updates are provided to the customers in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skill, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive business management and/or manufacturing operations experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years in a Project Management role.
  • Experience managing projects from concept through production, material control/scheduling, and cost accounting/budgeting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing best practices such as Lean, 5S, and Kaizen is an asset.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar systems.

Skills

  • Excellent management, communication, and people skills are required to influence and manage multiple resources, most of which are outside of direct authority. Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Must have excellent judgment, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify complex problems and see them through to resolution.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Executive-level presence with exceptional business acumen, possessing overall leadership qualities and abilities.
  • Team-oriented, with demonstrated ability to work with others to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Must be flexible and able to deal with multiple and changing priorities quickly.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, contracts, terms and conditions, technical procedures, and/or regulations furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with complex reports and MRP database systems.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • General understanding of financial concepts (i.e., budgeting and analysis) and planning, scheduling, and forecasting knowledge.
  • Applied knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)
  • Strong customer service focus.
