Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at LJA Engineering, Inc. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring of project progress.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and expectations, and ensure that project deliverables meet their requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project quality and safety standards are met.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, including progress reports, status reports, and final project reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in project management or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with project management software, such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as ASCE and AASHTO.
  • Experience with utility design, including water and wastewater systems.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other engineering software.
