The Master Cultivator is responsible for all aspects of the cultivation . Upper-level education in a related field such as agriculture and or business management is desirable.
Applicants must be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Successfully manage all aspects of production including vegetative and flower production, curing, trimming/processing, compliance, and equipment/building maintenance.
- Recruit, select, train, assign, coach, review employees.
- Enforce existing SOPs and develop new SOPs to adapt to this fast-changing industry, maintain a current set of SOPs that encompasses all production activities.
- Meet production goals as set by the Executive Management Team (EMT).
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
- Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace.
- Maintain organizational and cleanliness of the cultivation facility while performing job duties.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
- Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations.
- Meet or exceed operations equipment and energy budget expectations.
- Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor.
- Manage relationships with key regulatory agencies such as MED, E&L fire, OSHA, Health and Safety. Successfully pass routine inspections with these agencies.
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors. Track material and vendor pricing, review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment.
- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at regular department meetings.
- Always maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Work in a timely manner and strive to increase department productivity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must have worked with 400 lights minimum
- Upper-level education in a related field such as agriculture and or business management is desirable.
- Strong successful management experience is preferred.
- General farming or greenhouse experience is preferred.
- Must demonstrate accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail.
- Must have a very strong and reliable work ethic.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to conduct repetitive arm and hand motion.
- Must be able to work in a cultivation facility with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions. May require use of safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as needed.
- Must be able to perform physical requirements necessary to the position, including standing for long periods of time, walking the greenhouse, and lifting 50 pounds.
