Bonder Metal/Composite Technician
We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Bonder Metal/Composite Technician in El Segundo, CA.
Responsibilities:
· Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment, or structures into semi-finished or finished products.
· Fabricate composite parts
· Lays out articles, cuts parts or materials to size.
· Applies liquid or solid bonding agents.
· Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycle.
· Controls conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used.
· Sands, burrs, and smooths over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
· Monitors and verifies quality of finished product.
· Completes repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
· Verifies quality of finished product.
Requirements:
· 3-5 years Bonding experience
· Fabricate composite components/tools, which may include bond prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, finishing, core fabrication, and bond work.
· Aerospace/Space/Automotive experience
Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property
Education: High school diploma or GED
Location: El Segundo, CA 90245
Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $25.00 – 31.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
Work Schedule: 5/40, 9/80 or 4/10: 9/80
Hours: 1st shift and 2nd shift. 1st shift hours 5:00 Am to 2:42 PM. 2nd shift hours 2:30 PM to 12:00 Am
