We’re searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team of high-performing restaurant professionals and keep our finances positioned for continued success. The CFO position will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position.

Chief Financial Officer Objectives:

  • ·Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy.
  • Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets.
  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows
  • Comply with national and local financial requirements

Chief Financial Officer Responsibilities:

  • The CFO is ultimately responsible for the solid financial position of the company.
  • Provide strategic direction of financial operations, manage the accounting and finance departments.
  • The formulation of standard policies for the Accounting Department, and all other departments when it comes to financial control.
  • Income tax reporting, record keeping, tax assessments, etc.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasts.
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting.
  • Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.
  • Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure compliance and reporting.
  • Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general)

Required CFO skills and qualifications

  • 8 or more years of experience in executive leadership roles

  • Corporate finance
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
  • Working knowledge of how to raise capital outside traditional lines of credit
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and comfortable traveling

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Must come from a restaurant CFO background
  • MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant certification a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Restaurant 365), word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
  • Multi State finance experience
