Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for registering guests in and out of the hotel. Greets guests in a professional and friendly manner, following More Guest Service Standards. Registers guests by entering their information into the computer and assigning rooms based on their needs or preferences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain and manage bank from Casino Cage daily; follow money handling procedures and maintain balanced bank.
  • Accept payments via cash, credit card, or debit card; issue receipts, room keys, and change as needed.
  • Direct guests to their rooms.
  • Check guests out of the hotel.
  • Check in VIP guests.
  • Compute expenses incurred during stays, such as phone calls and food and beverage charges.
  • Accept payments for expenses, issue receipts, and provide change as necessary.
  • Retrieve room keys.
  • Book or make future reservations for guests.
  • Accept payment for advanced bookings; issue receipts and provide change as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages as required.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding room availability and front desk operations.
  • Work with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned and ready for occupancy.
  • Handle phone inquiries about room availability, rates, promotions, etc. Assist with special requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Print all transactions at the end of the shift and reconcile totals on the computer printout against cash on hand.
  • Prepare and balance the shift end report before submitting to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat and clean front desk area at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two (2) years of hotel/motel front desk experience; LMS experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage the VIP check-in window successfully.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Gaming Card.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, procedures, and memos.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus (not required).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to retain and navigate through several computer applications.
