About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Store Manager for House of Glass to lead our team and ensure exceptional customer service while driving sales and operational excellence.

The Store Manager is responsible for leading a team of Sales Associates / Cashiers to ensure excellent customer service and efficient store operations. This role involves managing and training qualified employees, managing and overseeing inventory, and addressing customer inquiries and complaints. The Store Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive store environment and achieving sales goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21 - $25 per hour

Responsibilities

Employee Scheduling and Task Management

  • Develop and maintain employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and store operations.
  • Assign responsibilities and tasks to employees based on their roles and skills, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Monitor and review the completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities to ensure they are executed effectively within the store.

Employee Training and Development

  • Conduct comprehensive training procedures for new hires to ensure they understand their roles, responsibilities, and company policies.
  • Provide continuous training and professional development opportunities for existing employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Regularly assess employee skills and performance to identify areas for improvement and additional training needs.

Staff Performance Evaluation

  • Develop and implement performance-based metrics to objectively evaluate staff performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations to monitor employee progress and effectiveness.
  • Provide constructive feedback and create development plans to address areas needing improvement and to recognize outstanding performance.

Staff Criteria and Standards

  • Establish clear criteria for staff performance, including sales targets and productivity benchmarks.
  • Incorporate customer approval and complaints into performance evaluations to ensure high standards of customer service.
  • Ensure all staff members are aware of the criteria and hold them accountable for meeting these standards.

Financial Goals and Sales Targets

  • Establish clear financial goals and sales targets for staff to achieve within specific timeframes.
  • Regularly track and review staff performance against these targets to ensure consistent progress.
  • Provide incentives and motivation for staff to meet or exceed their financial and sales objectives.

Inventory Management and Loss Prevention

  • Manage both retail and company inventory to ensure accurate stock levels and availability of products.
  • Implement and enforce loss prevention strategies to minimize theft, breakage, and other forms of inventory loss.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to track inventory and identify discrepancies, ensuring proper accountability and control.

Social Media and Promotional Campaigns

  • Utilize social media platforms to create and manage advertising campaigns aimed at attracting new customers and retaining existing ones.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with customers through social media, enhancing brand loyalty and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate on the creation of in-store and external promotions to draw in customers and boost sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail management, with a proven track record of driving sales and managing store operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in training, motivating, and supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies, meet sales targets, and drive store profitability.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in managing inventory, including stock control, ordering, and loss prevention.
