Position Overview:
The Maintenance Mechanic (II) is responsible for supporting all aspects of machine maintenance and upkeep including, but not limited to, preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustment, and repairs on mechanical and electrical machines and equipment to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and within the company’s safety, quality, and business standards.
Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and building systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and diagnose root causes of issues to implement effective repair solutions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks according to schedule, including lubrication, filter changes, belt adjustments, and component replacement.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory.
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Manually dismantle defective machines or electronic components of machinery and equipment using handheld and pneumatic tools.
- Install and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
- Able to read blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Able to use the control systems on equipment and machinery to start, move, test, and properly shut down to complete necessary work.
- Make repairs to all hydraulic, oil, pneumatic, and grease leaks.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
