Seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Specialist to take ownership of market opportunities, identifying and pursuing new business prospects while deepening relationships with existing clients within the construction industry. In this role, you will be a key player in cultivating new partnerships and ensuring client satisfaction, working closely with operations and executive management.

Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus based on company performance and individual contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Acquisition: Proactively identify, pursue, and build new client relationships to expand our business footprint.
  • Opportunity Evaluation: Identify and assess new client and partner opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, and active participation in industry groups and professional associations.
  • Engagement: Deliver persuasive calls and presentations to showcase our company’s capabilities and value propositions.
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate with business unit leaders and project executives to present our capabilities and execute sales and demonstration processes that secure new business.
  • Estimate Assistance: Assist in the final assembly of estimates for presentation to clients.
  • Project Support: Review construction schedules and contribute to the preparation of General Conditions for projects.
  • Subcontractor Relations: Actively seek out and build relationships with additional qualified subcontractors in various markets.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop relationships with firms in target markets to explore and establish strategic partnerships.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update historical data for unit pricing to support accurate and competitive project proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of the sales process in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Mathematical & Data Skills: Competence in performing mathematical calculations and proficient data entry skills.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Project Experience: Experience attending pre-construction meetings is highly desirable.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across all levels of management and with various company personnel.
