Positions available in: Stony Brook, Lake Grove, East Setauket, Smithtown, Wading River, Hampton Bays.
We have an immediate need for Medical Assistants to work at practices affiliated with a very prestigious medical center.
Multiple specialties available: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, OBGYN, Orthopedics.
Full-Time- Monday through Friday (Pediatric positions include 1-2 Saturdays/month)
Temp to Hire
$20-$23/hour - Pay Rate Commensurate with Experience
MEDICAL ASSISTANT SUMMARY:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, must have computer and/or EMR experience, High school diploma/GED.
This position requires the medical assistant to provide support to physicians and other clinical staff. The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and clerical work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments
- Take patient vital signs and record medical history
- Administer injections and medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records
- Provide patient education and instructions for at-home care
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a medical assistant program or certification preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
