Stansell is seeking a talented Safety Manager to join our team
Stansell is a rapidly growing, WBE certified, general contractor specializing in commercial construction services across the Southeast United States. We focus on serving clients in the commercial market with emphasis on the following project types: restaurant dining and quick service food. The ideal candidate for this role is a career-minded individual with a customer service focus, has high energy, and is detail oriented.
Responsibilities
- Safety Policies
- Maintain Safety Manual policies and suggest revisions to leadership as needed so as to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Organize & Lead jobsite/workplace Safety Initiatives
- Ensure that all employees are aware of and follow Safety Policies - Risk Assessment
- Communicate with Area Supervisors and Field Superintendents to identify common and unique risks on jobs sites, then create safety protocols based on those risks. - Accident/Incident Investigation
- Work with Area Supervisors, Human Resources and other relevant project personnel to conduct thorough investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents to determine the root cause and implement corrective action to prevent similar incidents in the future
- Gather evidence, interview witnesses and analyze associated data - Compliance Management
- Manage Safety Data to easily track compliance, incidents, and safety training records.
- Work with HR to maintain OSHA compliance, reporting & record keeping
- Represents the Organization in meetings with our insurance carrier to instill confidence in them that Stansell provides a safe environment for all of our employees and others associated with our work. - Maintain jobsite visibility so that field personnel know and see you as a resource.
- Observe and learn trade partner safety plans to they stay aligned with Stansell’s policies.
- Verify tools and equipment are in safe operating condition
- Respond to worker’s safety concerns - Grow knowledge of industry best practices; primarily relative to Safety
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Work with urgency
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or similar to the construction industry.
- 30-hour OSHA certified.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook & Excel)
- Experience with SharePoint, PlanGrid, Smartsheet, Procore, MS Project and other Construction management software is preferred.
- Very Attentive to details, organizational skills and multitask skills
- Candidate will be provided an Orientation to Stansell, but they will be placed into the Safety Manager position immediately upon employment to learn the role in a live, fast paced, environment.
