B1 Driver experience required

Professional who is responsible for managing workers and direct dispatching activities of logistics vehicles. Terminal Manager is required to develop relationships with corporate and operational departments to ensure the company logistics standards are met.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan, implement and oversee the work of staff members to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational requirements and company procedures.

· Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including tracking, routing and dispatching transportation vehicles.

· Conduct ongoing safety audits, meet with individual staff members, attend company safety meetings and participate or direct other work activities designed to promote work safety and encourage continuing education among staff members.

· Implement changes to transportation services, policies or scheduling as needed.

· Ensure staff members fully and consistently comply with safety rules, administrative procedures and policies, and government regulations.

· Initiate and direct investigations to resolve shipper or customer complaints and verify their authenticity and accuracy.

· Collaborate with staff members and fellow managers to create, modify and implement goals, procedures, policies and objectives when the opportunity presents itself.

· Establish and conduct monthly, quarterly or annual employee training sessions on a variety of subjects, including quality improvement, hazardous material handling, computer use and employee orientation

· Support customer relationships, oversee cost controls, while ensuring safety, service and quality

· Ensure outbound and local delivery schedules are created and updated as needed

· Manage and oversee all terminal functions to include dock and city operations

· Oversee labor costs and claim costs to maintain the company standard

· Work closely with Brokerage, safety, sales, and fleet services to ensure all company goals are being met

· Interact directly with customers to resolve any issues or disputes

· Enforce compliance and DOT regulations amongst the staff

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

· Minimum of five years’ experience in Transportation /Operations

· Strong leadership and team-building skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Effective organizational and multitasking skills


Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of relevant professional experience in the transportation/Logistics industry

· Previous experience as a terminal manager

· Bilingual in English and Spanish

· Previous Brokerage experience

· Previous experience using McLeod (TMS Software)

· Ability to meet or exceed team/driver needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
