General Accountability:

Reporting to the site Controller the Accountant is a key member of the Florence Copper team providing accounting and finance support within the Accounting department. The Accountant will work collaboratively with the site and corporate finance teams to prepare and analyze accounting statements, cost records, and other reports.  The Accountant will also coordinate with various departments to support special projects and ensure accurate reporting.  These goals will be accomplished by collecting, collating, and reporting timely and accurate financial information.

Core Responsibilities:

•    Assist in the preparation of accounting and financial reports for consolidation and submission.
•    Ensure schedules are prepared in accordance with management and statutory requirements.
•    Enter and review purchase requisitions to ensure proper classification and cost coding
•    Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger, including cash flow forecasts by currency.
•    Prepare monthly and quarterly financial closing activities including accruals, clearing accounts, and various other adjusting journal entries.
 •    Coordinate with site accounting team to manage the setup and maintenance of supplier profiles in the ERP system
      •    Coordinate with the site controller to ensure complete and accurate documentation for quarter end reviews and the year end audit.
•    Liaise with internal and external auditors during the internal controls compliance testing (SOX), quarterly reviews, and interim & year end       audits.
•    Establish and maintain effective relationships with corporate accounting, operations, and external auditors.
•    Coordinate with the site controller to maintain account setup in the ERP system (4Site) to facilitate proper costs collection and reporting.
•    Assist with other projects and duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience: 

•    Associate’s degree in Finance or Accounting; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
•    Minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the mining or construction industry.

Skills and Competencies:

•    Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
•    Strong computer skills, specifically with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite applications. 4Site Enterprise Management System experience a plus.
•    Ability to analyze and accurately document work products in a comprehensive and timely manner 
•    Highly accurate, strong attention to detail
•    Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
•    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
•    Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
•    Effective oral and written communication skills.
•    Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
•    Able to demonstrate discretion during job related decisions and in corporate relationships involving confidential subject matters and         materials
