Heavy Equipment Mechanic

MJC Land Development is actively looking for Heavy Equipment Mechanic. We are based in West Palm Beach, FL. MJC is a family owned and operated business that self performs clearing & grubbing, excavation, under ground utilities and roadwork. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repairs and overhauls variety of equipment including light and heavy-duty trucks, graders, rollers, dozers and related equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and inspections to determine need for repairs
• Performs more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks such as replacement of engines, transmission and differential gears; replaces motor repairs
• Disassembles units, repairs or replaces parts, and reassembles units in the cooling, drive, brake, electrical, steering, heating, and air conditioning, hydraulic and air systems.
• Perform engine repairs, rebuilds and components R&R.
• Field work, as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Considerable experience (5 years) in the heavy and mechanical equipment repair, with emphasis on diesel powered and complex heavy-duty equipment with hydraulics.
• Knowledge of parts and equipment is a must.
• All successful mechanics should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a fairly clean driving record
• CDL is preferred but not required
