IT Support and Direct Mail Data Processing Specialist

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile professional to join our onsite team as an IT Support and Direct Mail Data Processing Specialist. This role involves providing technical support to end-users and direct mail data processing activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT support, data management, and problem-solving skills. The individual in this role will contribute to smooth IT operations and efficient handling of direct mail campaigns.

 

Responsibilities:

1. IT Support:

   - Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network connectivity problems, and system errors

   - Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software applications, and peripherals.

   - Set up new user accounts and manage user access rights using Active Directory.

   - Collaborate with IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.

   - Document and maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.

 

2. Direct Mail Data Processing:

   - Process and manage direct mail data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

   - Import and export data files, cleanse and validate data, and perform data merges using BCC Mail Manager.

   - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define data requirements for direct mail campaigns.

   - Manipulate, transform, and format data for mailing purposes.

   - Conduct quality control checks to ensure accurate mailing lists and data output.

   - Troubleshoot data-related issues and implement corrective action as necessary.

 

3. System Maintenance and Upgrades:

   - Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new hardware, software, and IT solutions.

   - Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system backups, updates, and patches.

   - Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.

   - As part of a team effort, ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.

 

4. Create Variable Data Print (VDP) Files

   - Use PlanetPress software to create VDP templates

   - Create, configure and work with hot folders for file creation

   - Ensure quality and integrity of print files and the data files used to create them

   - Ability to communicate decisions and/or answer questions regarding the above items to our production staff

 

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience in IT support.

- Knowledge of hardware, software and network troubleshooting.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

- Familiarity with direct mail marketing concepts and practices.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Attention to detail

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

 

Bonus Qualifications:

- Experience in direct mail data processing.

- Proficiency in data processing software and tools (Excel, SQL, BCC Mail Manager, data cleansing and formatting tools).

- Proficiency in workflow automation software and tools (e.g., PlanetPress, XMPie, etc.).

- Familiarity with FileMaker, SQL, JavaScript, AWK, HTML, CSS.
