Job DescriptionJob Description

The Financial Aid coordinator is responsible for the overall management of student billing and accounts receivable, ensuring that all tuition and fees are accurately assessed, collected, and recorded. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office, including student account management, financial reporting, and compliance with institutional policies and government regulations. The Financial Aid Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the institution while providing exceptional service to students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Billing and Collections: Oversee the billing process for tuition, fees, and other charges, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage the collection of payments, including the development of payment plans and coordination of delinquent account processes.

  • Account Reconciliation: Ensure the accurate reconciliation of student accounts and general ledger entries. Monitor and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Financial Aid Disbursement: Collaborate with the Financial Aid team to ensure the proper application and disbursement of financial aid funds to student accounts.

  • Customer Service: Provide guidance and support to students and families regarding billing, payment options, and account inquiries. Address and resolve any issues or disputes promptly and professionally.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.

  • Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports as required by the institution’s leadership.

  • System Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the institution’s billing and student information systems. Ensure data integrity and implement system improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
