Candidate must be able to work with a team of designers and engineers. Successful candidate will work in Orlando, Florida on preparing construction drawings for projects located in the US and abroad.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience primarily is Structural Engineering Design with working knowledge of Civil, and Geotechnical Engineering Design
  • Licensed PE or SE 
  • Working knowledge of industry standards including ACI 318 and the AISC manual
  • Familiarity with the International Building Code and related codes
  • Analytical skills to perform structural engineering calculations for design, analysis, and detailing of liquid containing concrete structures with retaining walls
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans and specifications
  • Experience with generating drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and / or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Prefer candidate to be already listed with NCEES
  • Experience with Environmental Engineering structures covered by ACI 350
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit
  • Experience with Structure Point (spWall and spMatt), Ansys or similar Structural Engineering software
  • Experience in detailing joints in concrete that must be waterproof
  • Stormwater design
  • Frost resistant design
  • Deep foundation (i.e piles, piers, caissons, etc.) design
  • Working knowledge of foundation systems on expansive clay subgrades commonly found in Texas
  • Experience with early conceptual design

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in the layout and detailing of civil engineering structures with other team members with clear and specific objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment
  • Prepare complete structural design to include plans, specifications, and calculations liquid containing structures and retaining walls
  • Prepare adaptable templates of plans, specifications, and calculations for future projects
  • Review the work of other related engineering disciplines specific to each project
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work while working on multiple projects using time efficiently to stay within budget and deliver on time
  • Assist in the preparation of project scopes, tasks, budgets, and schedules, contributing valuable insights from a geotechnical perspective
  • Interact and collaborate with contractors and other project team members
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in geotechnical and structural engineering, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge
