Participants engage in hands-on experience operating chemical applicator equipment and understanding the proper use of chemicals for pest or weed control, all while benefiting from structured training and mentorship provided by experienced professionals. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to earn income simultaneously through employment and completing necessary coursework at CCC through classroom instruction.

The Custom Applicator Apprentice would attain knowledge in the following:
  • Rate/density, nozzle selection, speed vs. rate, etc. for application.
  • Utilizing and operating variable rate technology, GPS guidance systems, and application software.
  • Preventive maintenance and machine inspections on each brand of machine.
  • Unloading and unloading inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Understanding of product inventory levels that could restrict application or delivery schedules.
  • Precisely blending and custom applying fertilizers and agricultural chemicals based on recommendations and label directions accurately.
The ability to obtain the following:
  • Commercial Applicator's License
  • CDL with required endorsements
By combining training in chemical applicator equipment operation, chemical knowledge, equipment maintenance, and truck driving, the apprenticeship program equips participants with a diverse skill set essential for success in the pest control, agriculture, and related industries.
