The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC) is currently accepting applications for a Logistics/Fleet Operations Supervisor to manage, deploy, and support ITDRC’s fleet assets and response equipment located throughout the United States. Based in our National Disaster Relief Coordination Center (NDRCC) in Fort Worth, Texas, the successful candidate will utilize their organizational skills and mechanical experience to ensure our fleet is properly maintained and our equipment is ready for deployment on a moment’s notice.

This position involves regular company sponsored travel to inspect and pre-position assets in various regions, provide support for planned public education events, and ultimately, to support ITDRC field operations as we assist communities impacted by disasters. The selected candidate will report to the Operations Director and collaborate with the Leadership Team and Operations Staff to successfully execute this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of ITDRC’s Fleet Assets, including: Trucks, Trailers, Mobile Command Centers, Utility Task Vehicles (UTV), and Power Systems
  • Schedule and/or perform preventative maintenance services to ensure readiness of all response equipment, including technological and fleet assets
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs and upgrades
  • Maintain an accurate electronic inventory of all ITDRC assets system-wide
  • Maintain budget and accurate reports of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and utilization
  • Help develop and implement training programs and documentation for proper asset use and care
  • Support active field operations, providing on-site and remote support as necessary
  • Support planned events by transporting, setting up, monitoring, and demobilizing equipment as required
  • Build & manage working relationships with volunteers, leaders, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Be the standard bearer for ITDRC culture, safety and standards, and educate team members of applicable guidelines related to the care, operation, mobilization and demobilization of ITDRC assets

Minimum Experience and Background:

  • Valid Class A CDL Required
  • 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in automotive/truck maintenance or mechanical repair
  • Experience managing or maintaining small to medium sized fleet, or equivalent military logistics experience
  • In-depth understanding of applicable federal/state DOT laws, regulations, and guidelines

Desired Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or G Suite products
  • Strong mechanical skills including diagnosing trouble reports/codes, performing common mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Proficiency installing and troubleshooting 12VDC Accessories (Two-way radios, GPS, etc)
  • Experience with FleetComplete Asset Tracking and Management System
  • Knowledge of Response Logistics, transportation systems, and processes
  • Social and interpersonal skills that support rapport-building with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently and in diverse team settings
  • High energy, maturity and leadership with exceptional time management skills
  • Familiarity with the Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Eligible for Incentive pay for relevant certifications

Special Requirements:

  • This is a full time employee position that provides a flexible work schedule that may include holiday, after hours, and weekend support
  • Requires a Class A CDL with no more than 1 driving infraction in the last 36 months
  • Short notice, company sponsored travel required up to 50%
  • Successful completion of FEMA ICS 100 & 700 courses required within 30 days
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
