Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Can not be allergic to dogs or cats
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Must be available on weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • For applicants with no experience the pay is $17.00 and would start with working in the back with the dogs. For applicants with experience working in the animal industry AND some kind of customer service experience, the pay is $18.00 per hour. These applicants would work strictly in the back with the dogs on some days and strictly work at the front desk on the other days.
  • Must "love" dogs.
  • Must be patient and kind. Dogs are fun and rewarding, but they can also be dogs. You must be able to interact in a calm and non-threatening manor. If you don't have patience, this job is not for you. We do not tolerate any forms of abuse.

Perks

  • Free daycare and boarding for your own dog
  • $50 bonuses on certain holidays and additional $50 the week of certain holidays
  • Food provided in break room on a monthly basis
  • 25% Commission on baths
  • 100% of tip for grooming a dog
  • 5 paycheck draws per year
  • Paydays every other Friday

Responsibilities

Handle general care tasks such as feeding and grooming of the animals.

This is a team environment. You must be willing to do your part to contribute to the team.

Half the job is cleaning when working the back with the dogs, and half the job will be caring for them and playing with them.

If you have customer service experience, you will also be working the front desk part of the time and the back with the dogs the other part of the time. When working the front desk, you must have the ability to be honest with customers about their dog, even if it's uncomfortable. You must have a positive attitude and be attentive to all of the customers needs. You must have the ability to communicate positively with your team. We are all accepting of each other here at Doggyland so being a team player is a very important attribute.
