Project Engineer - Transmission Calibration
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in vehicle-based evaluations, concentrating on calibration and controls of transmission and driveline systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the advancement of powertrain technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support various projects focused on powertrain driveline calibration and vehicle/component development.
- Plan experiments, set up data acquisition systems, analyze results, and guide future tests.
- Prepare and deliver detailed presentations and reports to clients, ensuring clarity and precision.
- Conduct projects with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring alignment with technical and timing expectations within predefined budget limits.
- Provide on-site support at customer facilities, contributing to ongoing development programs.
- Apply your hands-on skills to understand and document test results and calibration changes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Strong understanding of transmissions and driveline components.
- Experience in powertrain/vehicle/test cell data acquisition.
- Proven teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated vehicle and driveline testing and calibration experience.
- Ability to lead testing/calibration projects and provide direction to less experienced engineers and technicians.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of various transmissions (planetary automatic, manual, DCT, CVT, etc.).
- Expertise in transmission/driveline and/or engine calibration.
- Programming skills (e.g., Excel, Visual Basic, Matlab).
- Familiarity with data acquisition equipment and software such as ETAS INCA, CANape, CANalyzer, CSM.
- Knowledge of hybrid systems and high-voltage systems.
- Experience with On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project).
- 1-3 years of experience in related positions.
