Quality Systems Engineer Job Summary: The Quality Systems Engineer will be responsible in leading the development and implementation of ISO certifications from the ground up. This role is critical in establishing a robust quality management system (QMS) that aligns with ISO standards, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. Will design, develop, implement, maintain, and improve the company’s management systems. Coordinate and guide with department management to achieve and maintain certifications.

Quality Systems Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) to achieve ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 22001, ISO 14001, ISO 19011, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, etc.)
  • Lead the ISO certification process, including gap analysis, documentation, training, and audit preparation.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ISO standards into all business operations.
  • Create and update quality documentation, policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Train and support employees on quality management processes and ISO requirements.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the QMS and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in ISO standards and ensure the QMS remains compliant.
  • Stay updated with Environmental legislation.
  • Corrective action management.
  • Strategic Planning (SWOT)
  • Incorporation of new methodologies and quality tools.
  • Ensure that the company’s management system is maintained.
  • Implementation of good practices in the QMS
  • Follow quality GMP’s and Safety policies.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Quality Systems Engineer Qualifications: (These examples do not include all of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform.) To perform this job successfully an individual must:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality systems engineering or a similar role, with a focus on ISO certification
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant ISO standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing QMS from scratch.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools
  • Certified ISO Lead Auditor or similar certification preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector preferred
