Richmond Hill, United States COASTAL EMPIRE PERIODONTICS LLC Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDental Assistant:
We are a growing private periodontal/oral surgery practice and are looking for a dental assistant with strong chairside skills specific to dental surgery procedures. We use cutting-edge technology for the best possible patient care; we have a wonderful patient population, a dedicated doctor, and staff that love their job

Our schedule is Tuesday to Friday, and we enjoy three-day weekends. We offer PTO, paid holidays, a yearly cash bonus, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, a uniform allowance, and continuing education opportunities.

What does a typical day look like for our dental assistants?

Assisting the periodontist during dental procedures: This involves passing instruments, suctioning, and providing support to the periodontist during various treatments such as osseous surgery, extractions, dental implant procedures, and other periodontal therapies.

Preparing treatment rooms: The dental assistant is responsible for setting up and organizing the treatment rooms before patient appointments. This includes sterilizing and arranging instruments, ensuring all necessary materials and supplies are readily available, and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.

Sterilization and infection control: Following strict infection control protocols within the OSHA guidelines is crucial in a dental setting. The dental assistant ensures proper sterilization and disinfection of instruments, equipment, and treatment areas to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

Maintaining patient records: The dental assistant is responsible for accurately documenting patient information, treatment plans, and procedures performed. This includes updating electronic health records, taking note of patients' medical histories, and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.

Ordering and inventory management: The assistant may be responsible for managing dental supplies and equipment inventory. This involves monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring that necessary supplies are available for procedures.

The candidate should have completed training through an accredited dental assisting program (DANB), have two years of experience in oral surgery or periodontal care, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines, and be proficient with Dentrix. We will prefer candidates with phlebotomy certification and experience in starting IV lines.

We’d love to have you join us in Richmond Hill, GA. Competitive salary based on experience; all other incentives apply after the probationary period has been met.
