Job Description

Excellent opportunity available for a strongly motivated person seeking to start a career in manufacturing sales. The Client is a fast-growing customer-focused manufacturer of plastic components for aerospace, marine, and many other industries.  The ideal candidate has leadership skills, mechanical aptitude, and advanced interpersonal skills along with a strong desire to learn the skills necessary to be a successful sales professional. The Client will provide a unique and comprehensive training program to set you up for a successful and enjoyable sales career.

Essential Job Functions:

1.      Manage project pipeline to ensure projects get done and are sent in a timely manner to customer.  Schedule follow-ups on sent quotes.

2.      Be involved in production meetings to stay current and proactive in communicating to customers our progress with new tools awarded and first article schedules.

3.      Spearhead internal effort to ensure timely execution for creating part numbers, engineering masters, and material orders for new projects awarded. 

4.      Keep track and set reminders for key and strategic marketing “touches” to customers and prospect customers.

5.      Create. Organize, and keep up to date a marketing content folders.

6.      Provide world-class exceptional service to all customers. 

7.      Other duties as assigned.

 

Daily activities:

1.      Build relationships with customer buyers and prospective customers in the following scenarios:

a.       When something is escalated, you help resolve the issue without further escalation.

b.      When receiving a PO or RFQ, help ensure expectations are met or exceeded.

c.       By phone or email to get any missing information on quotes.

d.      When following up with a quote.

e.       When sending marketing emails.

f.        By asking them about the health of their business on a scheduled basis.

g.      By being in the forefront of their quoting needs.

h.      By understanding when existing parts will fall off and understanding what will replace those parts and when new parts will be available to quote?

i.        Help ensure new tooling and FAI’s stay on track or ahead of schedule and reporting status to customer.

 

2.      Project Pipeline:

a.       Ensure that RFQ’s are submitted to the estimating team the same day and project folders created.

b.      When possible, start the RFQ directly into Visual Estimating Window so a quote number is generated, before, the estimating team starts entering data.  This will save the estimating team some time and will help further organize us.

c.       Keep track of quote progress in Visual:  Mark off status of quotes. Enter $ value of quote, and important dates.

d.      Send estimating team reminders of quotes due. On a case-by-case basis, agree with sales reps or sales manager, who is sending the quote.  Then follow up to get status from the person who sent the quote. Keep track of when you send follow up.

e.       Document reasons why the quote was won or lost.

 

3.      Production Meetings through first article delivery:

a.       Attend necessary production meetings to ensure newly awarded projects are on time through major milestones.

b.      Proactively communicate to customer tooling and FAI status

c.       Help ensure we stay on track and escalate accordingly any anticipated delays or issues with delivery.

 

4.      Part number setups for new business:

a.       Ensure PO’s are entered according to company standards.

b.      Ensure customer service team and engineering support team set up part numbers, engineering masters, and work instructions according to company standards.

c.       Help resolve any discrepancies between PO and quote before sending off to Customer Service team.

d.      Help resolve issues with internal team pertaining to missing information, pricing, delivery dates, etc. on PO’s. 

 

5.      Marketing:

a.       Help increase awareness and increase exposure of the client’s name and capabilities to our customers and prospects.

b.      Ensure sales team is “touching” prospects and customers on a regular basis.  Track activity and frequency.

c.       This position will also create and send their own “touch” emails to prospects and customers.

d.      Mail brochures and samples to key prospects and customers.

e.       Monitor what we have available for samples and ensure we have quality pictures of all new samples.

f.        Make sure the marketing folder is up to date and organized.

12.  Computer literacy is required.

13.  High School diploma or equivalent required.

14.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

15.  1-2 years in Inside or Outside Sales experience preferred.
