  • PLC's - You understand them, can program, troubleshoot and diagnose issues with them.
  • You're a leader who can provide technical support to other technicians in the facility.
  • You can use the correct tools, (DVM, multimeter, software and custom cables) to identify root cause of electrical issues in the facility.
  • You know how to read and interpret schematics and user manuals.
  • You can troubleshoot process issues with automation software,
  • You can troubleshoot hardware, issues with PLCs and touch screens.
  • You can maintain and perform PMs according to schedule.
  • You use advanced network troubleshooting to diagnose control networking issues
  • You work well as a team with IT to troubleshoot and maintain automation servers.
  • If there isn't a user manual and training documentation, you will be able to create it, organize it and manage it.

If you are ready, this job is for you: The Automation Technician for Maintenance provides day-to-day electronic, electrical, and mechanical support for the Aurora manufacturing facility. The role of this position is to be a technical resource for solving maintenance reliability issues and provide some project management for projects supported by the maintenance department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, responding appropriately to changing priorities.
  • Respectfully interact with a diverse group of people.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, complete monthly safety audits/observations, follow GMP’s, maintain clean conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect safety.
  • Effectively communicate the status of issues and projects with management, vendors, peers and production personnel.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for electrical and instrumentation technicians at the facility.
  • Use the appropriate tools (e.g. dvm, multimeter, software, custom cables) to troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of issues in the facility.
  • Maintain and perform equipment according to PM and schedule.

  • Automation Technician ideally must have 5-8 years of related manufacturing automation experience.
  • Computer literate and able to use MS Word and Excel
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must demonstrate ability to problem solve and multi-task.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
