Position Overview:
As an Automotive Service Writer, you will act as the primary liaison between our customers and service department. Your responsibilities will include managing service requests, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring efficient service delivery. If you excel in communication, organization, and customer service, we want to hear from you Must have automotive service writing experience
PAY: 13-15 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers, assist with service requests, and complete sign-in sheets with necessary details.
- Service Management: Enter vehicle information, update the Work in Process Board, and assign mechanics based on availability.
- Estimates and Approvals: Generate and provide accurate service estimates, including parts and labor. Obtain customer approval before proceeding with work.
- Parts Ordering: Order parts from vendors, track arrivals, and enter details.. Manage parts returns and core credits as needed.
- Work Order Audit: Review completed work orders to ensure accuracy in invoicing, labor recording, and application of discounts or outside services.
- Invoice and Payment Processing: Convert work orders to invoices, process payments, and provide customers with complete payment documentation.
- Warranty and Customer-Supplied Parts: Handle warranty claims, coordinate defective parts replacements, and explain policies regarding customer-supplied parts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive training or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a service writer or advisor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
