Key Responsibilities

The Automotive Technician is responsible for executing vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards. This role includes supervising any apprentice technicians assigned.

Core Duties:

  • Receive and review repair orders from the dispatcher.
  • Perform tasks as detailed in the repair order with precision and efficiency.
  • Diagnose issues and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to procure required components.
  • Tag and save parts for warranty jobs or customer requests.
  • Inspect vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
  • Inform the service advisor if extra work is unnecessary.
  • Communicate with the service advisor if repairs cannot be completed as promised.
  • Document all work performed accurately.
  • Conduct road tests when necessary, ensuring customer vehicles are not used for personal errands.
  • Oversee the work of apprentice technicians as needed.
  • Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions.
  • Stay updated on factory technical bulletins.
  • Ensure cleanliness of customer vehicles.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment and account for all dealership tools.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and report any incidents immediately.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) is essential.
  • ASE certification or equivalent manufacturer training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Manual dexterity and good judgment.
  • Authorization to work in the USA is mandatory.
  • Ability to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Must pass pre-employment screenings including background checks, motor vehicle records, and drug tests.
