Marketing Automation Specialist

Marketing Automation Specialist will lead integrated email automation tied to student engagement lifecycle and journey initiatives, taking primary responsibility for the ongoing build development, analysis, and day-to-day execution of this fast-growing channel. They will be responsible for identifying and testing strategies to help shape effective automation campaigns and workflows for a variety of brand units (partner schools, The Software Guild, Advancement Courses and mthree). The position will analyze results and present solutions for how to improve the effectiveness of our overall automation efforts.
How you will make an impact:
• Manage strategic automation plans and the end-to-end production and deployment of various promotional emails, including planning, targeting, segmentation, scheduling, set-up/coding, testing, design/creative, copy writing, and overall campaign status reporting.
• Develop segmentation strategies and leverage consumer insights to improve key KPIs.
• Continuously optimize email workflows to drive higher returns with A/B testing of subject lines, message content, images, offers, landing pages, mailing frequency, segments and more.
• Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to create optimized templates and content based on previous testing & trends analysis.
• Specifically leveraging CRM and behavioral data to help drive customer segmentation/profiling, touch point prioritization, and messaging understanding.
• Analyze and report on email campaign results and KPIs, highlighting successes, trends and opportunities.
• Provide Daily/Weekly/Monthly campaign performance reporting leveraging data from all relevant sources to provide actionable insights to improve email campaign content and performance and make recommendations regarding future strategies.
• Manage relationships with internal teams for effective cross-channel communications, and day-to-day relationships with vendor partners and consultants to ensure achievement of objectives, platform performance, and results.
• Continually monitor internal testing results, deliverability metrics and industry best practices. Integrate learning to manage and ensure optimal email results, and improve deliverability, compliance around permission-based marketing, email hygiene, opt-in/opt-out requirements, privacy, and spam regulation (CAN/SPAM/COPPA).
What we look for:
• Bachelor's degree with three to five years’ experience in email marketing, CRM, marketing automation, and marketing operations.
• Experience building, deploying and managing lifecycle and transactional email campaigns using ESP/marketing automation tools that follow best practices aimed at operative KPIs
• Experience with lead scoring models, workflows, templates, lead import/maintenance and A/B testing
• Knowledge of best practices for email creative, targeting/segmentation, dynamic content, testing methodologies, deliverability and CAN-SPAM regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite, and working knowledge of HTML/CSS, graphic design/layout necessary.
• Working knowledge of Google Analytics and email testing tools. Familiarity with Hubspot, Delivra, Salesforce and/or Oracle Eloqua is a plus.
• Positive, energetic team player who is excited to play a significant role within this channel of marketing
• Creative, strategic, and analytical thinker who enjoys solving unstructured problems, taking initiative, and turning data into detailed paths towards action.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
