Job Title: Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Lead Teacher
Location: Pico/Robertson, Los Angeles

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dual-language education and experience leading a TK classroom in California. This role requires a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating a nurturing and academically challenging environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons in both Spanish and English that align with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework and California state standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, using a variety of assessment tools to inform instruction and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support a cohesive and integrated dual immersion program.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in dual-language education and the IB framework.
- Uphold the mission and values of Intiwasi by fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and community within the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- 18 preschool credits
- Previous experience in a dual-language environment, preferably in a Spanish immersion program.
- Proven experience as a Lead TK Teacher in California, with a thorough understanding of California state standards and regulations for TK programs.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong proficiency in both languages.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an IB school environment.
- Knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and its application in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of FOSS and/or Singapore Math philosophies and procedures.
- California teaching credential or equivalent certification.
