Job DescriptionJob Description

The Receiving Clerk position is accountable for receiving, inspecting and recording shipments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: unloading packages, checking contents for damages and making sure the contents match the orders, stocking product appropriately, and issuing material to production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with purchasing team on expected deliveries.
  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork when delivered.
  • Unload pallets and packages from incoming trucks and containers.
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are not damaged.
  • Verify packages according to order checking quantity and quality.
  • Contact the appropriate person if issues are discovered.
  • Responsible for coordinating return of unsatisfactory shipments or for receiving replacements.
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to designated places.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with inventory control by performing regular cycle counts.
  • Assign storage locations and bins physically and in SAP.
  • Pick parts for customer orders and production orders per schedule.
  • Issue parts on SAP per instruction.
  • Organize shelving and work areas.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others, meet tight deadlines, and manage busy work schedule.
  • Effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.
  • Ability to focus on safety and quality.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to use MRP system to manage material. SAP a plus.
  • Forklift operating experience preferred.
