Quality Control CMM Inspector Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a large manufacturing facility in search of a Quality Control CMM Inspector.  The Quality Control CMM Inspector operates Coordinate Measuring Machine equipment to perform measurement inspection and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs. The Quality Control Inspector mounts or installs tools, attachments, fixtures, or work pieces on CMM and inspect during in process or as a final inspection.  The Quality Control CMM Inspector interprets blueprints and specifications while documenting as required.  The CMM Inspectors’ duties includes developing programs to inspect products of varied degrees of complexity using the CMM machine, ensuring the machine is working correctly, and calibrating the machine to ensure proper measuring techniques are utilized. The ideal Quality Control CMM Inspector has experience in a similar role in a manufacturing facility with proven experience operating, including using and inspecting a CMM machine, documenting and communicating to personnel and management as required. The Quality Control CMM Inspector is a full time, temp to hire position in Sacrament, CA. 

 

Quality Control CMM Inspector Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a CMM Machine Using Established Programs, as Well as Creating New programs Using Programming Software

  • Perform Dimensional Inspection on Product Using CMM, Calipers, Micrometers & Height Gauges

  • Perform Visual & Dimensional Inspection on First Piece Inspection & In-Process Inspections Per Procedures

  • Ensure All First Article Inspection (FAI) Are Properly Completed 

  • Interprets Engineering Drawing, Schematic Diagrams, or Formulas & Confers With Management or Engineering Staff to Determine Quality & Reliability Standards 

  • Selects Products For Testing at Specified Stages in Production Process, & Tests Products For Variety of Qualities Such as Dimensions, Performance & Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Characteristics

  • Records Tests Data, Applying Statistical Quality Control Procedures 

  • Evaluates Data & Writes Reports to Validate or Indicate Deviations From Existing Standards

  • Perform Inspections & Generate Certificates of Conformance as Required or Directed 

  • Set up & Performs Destructive & Non-Destructive Tests on Material, Parts, or Products to Measure Conformance to Requirements 

  • Follow All PPE & Safety Guidelines

 

Quality Control CMM Inspector Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

  • AA Degree From a 2 Year Community College or Technical School & or 1 Year of Experience in a QC CMM Inspector Role

  • Strong Programming & Operating Coordinate Measuring Machines

  • Excellent Metrology, Blueprint Reading & GD&T Interpreting Skills 

  • Must Have Basic Understanding of ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 Standard 

  • Must be Able to Stand, Bend, Stoop, Sit, Walk, Twist, Kneel, Turn & Lift up to 40/lbs

  • Must Have Experience With Measuring Tools Such as Micrometers & Calipers, & Mechanical Inspections

  • Proficient With MS Office

  • Must Have Strong Mathematical Skills & Work With Mathematical Concepts 

  •  Must Have Excellent Time Management & Attention to Detail
