DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS - Metal Extrusion
Our client is looking for a Director of Operations for their metal extrusion plant in the greater Lafayette, IN area. This is an exciting role for someone that is looking for their next challenge There are career growth opportunities.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience leading Operations in a Metal Extrusion plant.
- 5+ years of experience in Aluminum Extrusion, Brass or Copper Extrusion
- Technical knowledge of Aluminum Extrusion
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience building highly effective teams, including coaching & mentoring.
- Lean manufacturing experience, including planning leading Kaizens, TPM & Safety events for department.
- Financial/Business Acumen
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a green card and live in the U.S.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the Aluminum Extrusion department. Produce Aluminum Extrusions at the lowest cost while meeting quality and delivering commitments.
- Principal emphasis is to develop & motivate a team to effectively manage goals related to Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery.
- Accountable for EH&S results, productivity, improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity, and customer delivery through implementation of the company’s Lean Manufacturing Systems principles (including Daily Management, TPM, 5S, etc.) for the department.
- Ensure consistent implementation & execution of policies and systems to guarantee that customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity.
- Ensure execution of financial goals and expectations set for each respective year.
- Responsible for planning and sometimes leading Kaizens, TPM, and safety events in their areas.
- Overall managerial responsibility for all production and maintenance salaried and hourly employees in the department, including production/maintenance superintendents, production/maintenance supervisors, mechanical/electrical technicians/engineers, and production operators.
