The Draslovka group is looking for a Senior Accountant as a strong accounting resource to support the Corporate Accounting function for the Mining Solutions business. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for supporting corporate accounting operations and reporting of the Company. These responsibilities include daily general ledger maintenance, month-end close assistance, reconciliation, and accrual preparation that complies with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and fixed assets accounting management. The preferred location for this position is at our Memphis, TN site, but the right candidate may enjoy the ability to work remotely with periodic travel to the site.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of fixed asset subledger including generation of accurate and timely asset transactions, such as capitalizations, depreciation expense, retirements, and transfers.
  • Perform month-end closing activities in a timely and accurate manner, including but not limited to journal entries, accruals and business reports as well as ensure compliance with company policies and meet closing deadlines.
  • Makes recommendations as to accounting reserves, assets, and expenditures
  • Record timely entries in the general ledger and preparation of assigned account reconciliations within communicated deadlines
  • Review large volumes of data and find discrepancies using multiple systems with follow up until resolution reached
  • Support offshore accounting team to ensure entries are posted correctly and all intercompany transactions are balanced
  • Provide ad hoc information support and analysis to other departments (Operating Management, Tax , Consolidations, etc.)
  • Create value through process improvement and standardization
  • Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Work with external auditors and support the annual audit process
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Well-organized with high attention to detail; highly motivated and able to prioritize and manage time wisely
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the organization, including upper management
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong inter-personal, human relations, and communication skills
  • Strong foundation in Excel (ability to perform Pivots and VLOOKUPs is assumed)
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong procedural development and process improvement skills with an ability to clearly document processes
