Economic Systems Inc. (EconSys) is an Equal Opportunity Employer accepting resumes for an experienced and motivated Program Manager for our Management Consulting team in Falls Church, VA. We are looking for a skilled professional to manage our line of Disability Employment and DEI contracts. This position is currently considered “remote” with limited in-person meetings throughout the year at our Falls Church office and at Federal offices in Washington, DC and comes with limited optional work travel opportunities.
EconSys solves difficult issues and creates useful programs to help government organizations approach problems and decision-making more quantitatively. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the oversight and maintenance of all program deliverables, and provide advisement, updates, and feedback to clients, when requested.
- Maintain excellent relationships with all program participants, including clients, other Federal and State officials, EconSys Staff, and Subject Matter Experts.
- Provide regular, day-to-day administrative, logistical, and operational leadership, guidance and project schedules for project team members and lead weekly team meetings.
- Advise project directors, team leads and EconSys senior leadership regarding project progress, accomplishments, and challenges.
- Manage communications efforts on behalf of the project, including:
o organizing briefings with Federal and State policy leaders,
o presenting at conferences,
o facilitating and developing webinars,
o drafting and reviewing public listserv announcements and newsletters, and
o editing and approving SME-created power points, policy reports, white papers, and other publicly available content.
- Work with Management Consulting team leadership to identify and manage proposal and business development opportunities which align with team goals.
- Engage with all other EconSys departments as is necessary and collaborate on other EconSys projects as requested.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience is required related to improving the outcomes of individuals with disabilities or other individuals through the Federal Workforce system. The projects this position manages are connected to active movements to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities and other traditionally disadvantaged populations at the state and national level. A minimum of two years’ prior experience should be in a leadership role.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills are required. Related to this, the ideal candidate must have excellent critical thinking, organizational, decision-making, and time-management skills.
- Writing: Ideal applicants should possess a strong ability in writing, particularly around policy development and procurement processes. This position will include the creation of Federal and State policy recommendations, public communications, writing at the technical, plain language and “Easy English” levels, and proposals.
- Technology: The ideal candidate must have a strong applied knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) that includes a basic understanding of accessibility features. A bonus would be familiarity with third-party communication software including Zoom and MailChimp and emerging innovations in Artificial Intelligence.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in a field such as business, management, rehabilitation science or public policy is recommended for this position. A master’s degree or professional accreditation in a relevant field can be substituted for one year of work experience.
