5. Job Summary
  1. The Warehouse Manager oversees the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. They ensure that productivity targets are met and maintain workplace health and safety standards to ensure the efficient running of the warehouse.

  2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Coordinate the shipping and receiving department schedules and personnel activities.
    2. Maintain both finished goods and raw material warehouses.
    3. Responsible for finished goods inventory accuracy.
6. Essential Duties and Functions
  • Receive materials and unload trucks. Verify the count and accuracy of inbound shipments with a packing list. Notate any discrepancies and notify management of inconsistencies.
  • Accurately fill and ship required products to the customer: pull cases, stencil, shrink wrap, palletize, and load trailers utilizing a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Ensure trailer wheels are chocked before entering the trailer.
  • Transport materials to assigned areas as required, staging as appropriate.
  • Assist other warehouse employees as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area inside and outside the warehouse.
  • Minimize loss by careful and accurate handling of materials.

  • Participate in quarterly inventory as assigned.
  • Support Quality Policy, Quality System and follow established procedures. Propose changes to existing procedures through the supervisor, understanding that changes cannot be implemented before formal approval in the Quality System.

7. Supervisory Responsibilities
  1. The Warehouse Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. The following function is accountable to the Warehouse Manager:

    1. Shipping Lead - Coordinate employee activities, assist in training employees, enforce safety rules, minimize scrap, and communicate with employees and supervision.

    2. Shipping and Receiving Clerks – Receiving: accurately and efficiently unload materials, verify quantities, and receive raw materials to stock. Shipping: Accurately and efficiently ship orders to customers; verify and route shipments.

    3. Shipping Coordinator - Accurately and efficiently provide routing information and documentation, schedule and coordinate logistics, and prepare and maintain appropriate shipping documents for domestic and international shipments.

8. Competencies
  1. Provide supervision and training for warehouse personnel to ensure proper performance of their assigned responsibilities
  2. Ensure all employees are working safely and follow safety procedures.
  3. Ensure the accurate and efficient unloading of materials
  4. Ensure that customer orders are delivered on time
  5. Ensure that the warehouse inventory is accurate. Organize and conduct physical inventory and cycle counts.
  6. Identify best practices for shipping orders to help minimize cost and prevent lost and damaged goods.
  7. Provide quotes to internal and external sources for shipments, as required.
  8. Liaising with various stakeholders, including couriers, dispatch, warehouse, and customer service, to resolve service and operations issues.
  9. Ensure the team completes freight claims timely and follows up as applicable.
  10. Providing clients with information affecting delivery, such as delays in delivering high levels of customer experience.
  11. Manage, motivate, train, and continually develop the warehouse team.
  12. Effectively maintain the FIFO flow of goods where applicable.
  13. Maintain a high standard of customer service by immediately attending to and resolving customer issues.
  14. Develop and implement objectives for areas of responsibility that support the company's goals.
  15. Study and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of shipping and receiving employees.
  16. Monitor and achieve goals and budgets set by management.
  17. Confer with department managers to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management, and quality assurance.

12. Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • This is a warehouse position with moderate noise levels.
  • The employee position may involve standing, walking, sitting, bending, balance, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds, overhead lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, squatting, and twisting. Proper lifting techniques are required. (A detailed physical requirements checklist is available for this position.)
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas and requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and steel-toe shoes.
