The LIT (Leadership in Training) program is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to launch a career in the wind industry. The combination of hands-on technical training and exposure to diverse back-office functions provides a well-rounded experience. The 9-12 months on-site as a technician offer a solid foundation, working alongside top-quality teammates. Following this, the chance to explore different back-office departments through rotations adds another layer to the learning process. It's a great way to understand the inner workings of the industry from multiple perspectives. 

The emphasis on fostering leadership skills is particularly noteworthy. This suggests that the program is not just about acquiring technical expertise but also about developing the ability to lead and navigate challenges in the dynamic wind industry. It's not just a job; it's a pathway to exciting and challenging roles post-completion. 

Overall, the LIT program is designed to set individuals on a trajectory for success in the wind industry, offering a blend of practical experience, exposure to diverse functions, and the cultivation of leadership capabilities. It's an opportunity not just to learn but to position oneself for a rewarding and impactful career. 

Are You Looking to:  

  • Support with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repairs to support a site?  

  • Generate required reports and other paperwork?  

  • Learn how to recognize occurrences of wind turbine error codes and appropriately report the issue?   

  • Assist in all areas of site operations?  

  • Assist with high-voltage system maintenance and repair?  

Are You Ready to:   

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on wind turbines bringing your skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.  

  • Perform unscheduled maintenance consisting of troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. 

  • Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to learn advanced troubleshooting and repair of the wind turbines.  

  • Establish and maintain general safety from the system / Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).  

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University, ideally with a focus on Engineering/Technical or Wind/Renewable energy discipline. 

  • Valid Driver's License 

  • Back-office skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.   

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.   

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.  

  • Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations.   

  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.  

  • Due to PPE constraints, those climbing turbines may not exceed 275 lbs.  

  • The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines.  

  • Employees must be physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and working in extreme weather conditions.  

  • Must be capable of rescuing teammates anywhere in a tower in the event of an emergency.
