Position Summary
The Forklift Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining industrial forklifts, performing diagnostic tests, servicing, and repairing defects, replacing broken or faulty parts, adjusting, and maintaining forklift parts, and following proper safety guidelines and procedures. The Forklift Mechanic will work with a team to ensure that all forklifts are operating efficiently and safely and will communicate with other mechanics and team members to resolve any issues that arise.
Position Description
· Troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary.
· May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to read technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Repair material handling equipment (e.g. sit down/stand up forklift, cherry picker, turret, and electronic/manual pallet jacks), fixtures, system, conveyors and other miscellaneous warehouse and production equipment as required.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and material handling equipment, fixtures, mechanical systems, conveyors and other miscellaneous warehouse and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems using schematics and technical drawings.
- Install material handling equipment, fixtures, system, conveyors and other miscellaneous warehouse and production equipment as required.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics preferred
· Follow all safety policies, protocols, procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting to 100 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly
Alternate sanding and sitting up (frequently)
Walkling.
Bending and twisting frequently
Heavy gripping with hands frequently
Frequent lifting from floor to waist
Frequent lifting from waist to shoulder
Must be able to hear and see.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Years of Experience: 2 to 3 years
Languages Spoken: English required preferred.
Certificates Attained: Must pass internal forklift certification process.
Must have previous experience with Toyota and Komatsu forklift software,
