Position Summary
The Forklift Operator - Pallet Sorter plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations. This position involves hand sorting pallets to ensure quality while removing any debris before returning them to the customer. The operator will utilize a forklift to transport pallets and materials throughout the warehouse, supporting production needs and assisting in loading and unloading trailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the movement of pallets and materials to enhance operational efficiency.
- Operate the forklift with precision, using levers and pedals to control lifting mechanisms.
- Position forks or other lifting devices under or around loaded pallets for transport.
- Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating forklifts, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Accountable for achieving operational results while upholding company values and safety standards.
- Hand-sort wooden pallets as needed.
- Repair wooden pallets using appropriate tools when required.
Qualifications
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
- Ability to follow instructions for record-keeping.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and shifts.
Work Environment

- Exposure to extreme conditions, including heat and cold.
- Physical demands such as bending, stooping, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands for handling and reaching.
- Noise levels may vary depending on the location.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including eye protection and safety shoes.
- Specific vision abilities are necessary for this role, including close and distance vision.
- Ability to lift pallets weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs. may be required.
