Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking an experience Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our surgical spine team. The Medical Front Desk Receptionist position is responsible for welcoming patients, setting appointments, and checking patients in and out, while maximizing patient satisfaction and utilization of treatment rooms. The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking, telephone skills, organization, time-management, and attention to detail. DUTIES:
*Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
*Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by checking in the patient in a timely fashion
*Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating demographic and financial information utilizing our EMR system eClinical.
*Schedule patient appointments at the end of the visit or when patients call to set up appointments
*Maintain open communication with medical assistant, legal team, billing team and surgery scheduling team.


REQUIREMENTS:

*HIPPA and OSHA compliance; promote a safe work environment at all times
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the patient, medical staff, insurance companies and others as relates to the case
*Caring demeanor toward patients and co-workers
*Clinical knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology
*Working knowledge of computers, fax, copiers and other technology
*Strong administrative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
*Prior medical experience, preferably in a spine or orthopedic setting is a plus
*Managing a high volume phone. Checking voicemails, emails and faxes, scanning and faxing.
*Maintains the reception area and waiting room. These areas should to be tidy at all times.
*Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
*Assist clinical staff with chart preparation.
*Proper patient check-in process.
*Proficient data entry.
*Shows proficiency with computer programs & EMR which may include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and others (Athena and eClinical experience is a PLUS)
*Possesses the ability to adjust to constantly changing workloads.


*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

*PREFERRED Orthopedic/Spine experience
*High School Diploma or GED required
*Associate or higher degree preferred
*1-3-years medical front desk experience REQUIRED
*Previous experience with eClinical Health preferred.
